Backpacking, dancing, mountain and street biking, bowling, golf, tennis, hiking, hunting, fishing, health clubs, shooting, roller skating and blading along with swimming are all available within Prescott.  Recreational activities are available through the City's Parks and Recreation Department which oversees Heritage Park Zoo and more than a dozen City parks on hundreds of acres.  Within the City there are 16 lighted tennis courts, 15 lighted baseball/softball diamonds, and four football fields.  The sport enthusiasts will also find gun clubs, a rifle range and trap shooting for their enjoyment.  Prescott has an Activity Center and Adult Center for active seniors.  

 

Watson Lake, Goldwater Lake, Lynx Lake and Granite Basin Lake provide water recreation opportunities within 10 miles of downtown Prescott.  With the Grand Canyon two hours away, and the beautiful Verde Valley a short hour's drive, Prescott is a favorite point of departure for day trips into central and northern Arizona.
